Arsenal v Leicester City: Premier League – BBC Sport

  • Arsenal have won their last five Premier League games against Leicester, the longest winning streak against the Foxes in their league history (also five between 1908 and 1914 and between 1930 and 1932).

  • Leicester have won just one of their last 26 away league games against Arsenal (D4 L21), winning 1-0 in October 2020.

  • Arsenal have won 16 of their last 17 Premier League games against newly promoted teams, with the exception of a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest in May 2023. At home, the Gunners are unbeaten in 39 such games (W34 D5), going back one 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest. 0 defeat against Newcastle in November 2010.

  • Leicester have remained winless, three draws and two defeats in their five Premier League games so far this season. They have only gone six times without a win since the start of the season in the 2022-23 relegation campaign.

  • Leicester have both conceded and conceded goals in all five Premier League games so far this season – only in the title-winning season of 2015/16 have they had a longer winning streak since the start of a season in the competition (the first nine).

  • Arsenal have received six cards (4 yellows, 2 second yellows) for wasting time or failing to leave in the Premier League this season, two more than any other club. They received three such cards in their last game against Manchester City.

  • Arsenal have taken 40 more shots than themselves in the Premier League this season (F50 A90), with no team showing a greater difference. The main reason for this lies in the two games in which a player was sent off – they had three shots on Brighton’s 19 after Declan Rice was sent off, and one on Manchester City’s 28 after Leandro Trossard’s last red had seen time out.

  • Gabriel Jesus has not been involved in more goals against any team in the Premier League than against Leicester (9 – 7 goals, 2 assists). On his home debut for Arsenal in August 2022, he scored two goals and provided two assists against the Foxes.

  • Arsenal’s Raheem Sterling has scored a brace in his last two Premier League games against Leicester – one with Man City (December 2021) and one with Chelsea (August 2022, his first goals for the club). Only three players have scored multiple goals against one opponent in a Premier League game with three different clubs – Robbie Fowler against Bolton (Liverpool, Leeds, Man City), Darren Bent against Bolton (Charlton, Tottenham, Sunderland) and Andrew Cole against West Ham (Newcastle, Man Utd, Man City).

  • Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has more assists than any other player in the Premier League so far this season (5) and could become the first player ever to assist a goal in each of his team’s first six games in the competition.
