Arrest warrants reveal details of the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old woman at the suspect’s home

A day after a 19-year-old was shot to death in Lynchburg and a woman was found dead in the suspected killer’s home, ABC13 has obtained arrest warrants that reveal more details in the case.

According to the warrants, Lynchburg Police Department officers initially responded to Fairlea Court for a report of malicious wounding; The warrants say the victim called a family member and told them he had been shot and called police.

The victim, 19-year-old Micah Cash Gaudio, was found by police in the driver’s seat of a BMW SUV in the driveway of a home on Fairlea Court.

“Life-saving measures were attempted against Gaudio, but were unsuccessful as he succumbed to his injuries,” an arrest warrant states.

The document says investigators contacted Gaudio’s stepfather, who gave them footage from a Nest camera in the house. According to the warrant, the video shows a man exiting a silver Hyundai SUV while holding a small child as he approaches Gaudio’s SUV. Gaudio can then be seen getting out of his SUV before the altercation begins.

“Gaudio confronts the man about why he is in his apartment; During a short conversation, Gaudio tries to get back into the BMW. The unidentified male subject can be seen pulling a pistol from his hip area with his right hand, pointing it at Gaudio and shooting.” “At least 9 shots are fired by the man into the vehicle, hitting Gaudio. The man is seen walking back and getting back into the Hyundai SUV with the child,” the warrants state.

The document states that investigators identified the shooter as Nathaniel Lee Pridemore through a historical search of the Hyundai license plate and surrounding authorities were notified to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

At that point, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a service stop regarding a man walking on the street who matched the description of the suspect and child, according to the warrant.

“Officers made contact with Pridemore, who was armed with a black handgun in his waistband,” the warrant states.

Pridemore was taken into custody Monday evening.

But Gaudio’s shooting wasn’t the only death that officials believed Pridemore was connected to. According to search warrants obtained by ABC13, officers questioned him about the welfare of a woman named Christina Hamilton, the owner of the Hyundai SUV that Pridemore was driving.

“When asked ‘Is Christina OK, where is she?’ Nathaniel responded by rolling his eyes. He was then asked, “Is she in heaven?” Nathaniel replied with a grin,” the search warrants say.

At that point, investigators had contacted Christina’s family members, who told officers that they had not had contact with her “for some time,” according to the warrants. Concerned for her safety, officers went to her home on Tunbridge Road to check on her. According to the Lynchburg Police Department, Pridemore also lived in this apartment.

“After several failed attempts to contact Christina at the apartment and by telephone, entry to the apartment was gained under urgent circumstances,” the search warrants state. “Inside, a deceased woman was lying on a bed and appeared to have a single gunshot wound to the head.”

The search warrants also state that LPD found protrusions in the walls, but a further search was required to locate any spent bullet casings in the apartment.

Police said the child involved in the incident is safe and will be reunited with his family soon.

Pridemore has not been charged in connection with Christina’s death, but he faces several serious charges:

  • Second degree murder
  • Use of a firearm
  • Endangering a child through a crime
  • Firing a firearm in the city
  • Discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle
  • reckless handling and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

ABC13 reported the shooting at Fairlea Court while officers were still on scene. We obtained doorbell camera footage from a home nearby where multiple gunshots were heard during Gaudio’s shooting.

Gaudio’s death shocked the Lynchburg community as the hours after Tuesday’s shooting stretched into a day. Among the condolences were the community of Liberty Christian Academy, where Gaudio was a student before graduating in 2024. The school released a statement Tuesday regarding his death and asked for continued prayers and support.

We will continue to report on the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
