Armie Hammer says goodbye to a valuable possession and starts a “new life” in Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, Hammer posted a video on Instagram of himself at CarMax, where he sold his truck.
He said, “I’ve been back in LA for a couple of weeks now. This is my truck. I bought it for myself as a Christmas present in 2017 because I’ve had pickups for a long time and I love this truck and have taken it camping and across the country and on long road trips several times.”
“Since I’ve been back in LA, I’ve put $400 or $500 worth of gas into it, and I can’t afford it,” Hammer admitted.
Despite giving up his truck, Armie remains optimistic. He said, “Here’s to a fresh start. Tomorrow is my birthday. On August 28th, I will start my birthday in a new car, a new apartment and a new life in Los Angeles.”
Armie announced that he would trade the truck for a “tiny” hybrid car that uses $10 in gas per month.
He added: “I just keep telling myself that parking will be easier and gas will be cheaper.”
Years ago, things fell apart at Hammer after two ex-girlfriends came forward and made disturbing claims about Armie, sharing x-rated and twisted sexual texts that they later detailed in the 2022 documentary “House of Hammer.”

Drue defended her son, saying, “I always say he didn’t commit a criminal wrong, but he did commit a moral wrong.”

Three and a half years after Armie’s public scandal, Dru believes he was treated unfairly. But in a strange way, the controversy may have changed her son’s life for the better.
“In some ways, it was probably the best thing that ever happened,” she said. “He’s been sober for four years. He’s an incredible father to his two children.”
Dru continued, “It’s not a publicity stunt, as they say in the industry: ‘Oh, just like everyone else, he’s going to rehab for a publicity stunt.’ You don’t stay five months if it’s a publicity stunt.”
