Armie Hammer is cutting staff.

In a new video posted on his Instagram account on Tuesday, August 27, House of the Hammer The 37-year-old announced that he is selling his beloved truck at a cheaper price.

“So, I’ve been back in LA for a few weeks now, this is my truck,” he began in the selfie clip.

“I bought this for myself as a Christmas present in 2017,” the actor said of his 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup. “I’ve loved this truck very much and have taken it camping and cross-country and on long road trips several times, and I took it to CarMax for one final road trip.”

Hammer insisted that his video was “not an advertisement for CarMax” and panned the camera to show the company sign before getting into his car for the last time.

“That’s because I’m selling my truck. Since I got back to LA, I’ve put $400 to $500 worth of gas in it and I can’t afford it anymore. I can’t afford the gas anymore,” Hammer admitted.

The Death on the Nile The star recalled the great memories he had in the truck, such as “bringing kids home from the hospital” and other “amazing trips.”

Hammer has a 9-year-old daughter, Harper, and a 7-year-old son, Ford, with his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers.

“But you know what? That’s OK. I have a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’ll probably spend about $10 a month on gas, and that’s all,” he said, adding, “Here’s to a fresh start. Tomorrow is my birthday.”

According to Hammer, he will “start his birthday on August 28th in a new car, in a new apartment, in a new life in Los Angeles.”

Then he thanked his vehicle for getting him this far: “I appreciate everything. I hope you take just as good care of the next person.”

In July, Hammer appeared on Piers Morgan uncensoredwhere he spoke about previous allegations against him – including sexual and physical abuse and cannibalism.

During the television interview, the actor denied that he had ever “eaten human flesh.”

He also admitted to “a very intense affair” that led to his divorce from 42-year-old Chambers in 2023.

Hammer claimed that the impact of the cannibalism and branding allegations led him to consider suicide, but he decided against it for the sake of his children – whom he was later only allowed to see under supervision.

In June, sources told PEOPLE that the actor was working to get his life back on track.

“He wants to prove himself and regain his credibility by fighting his way back into Hollywood,” an insider said. “He doesn’t want to be seen as someone who accepts favors.”

Another source added: “He didn’t rely on his family’s money or what people might think because he’s a ‘hammer.’ It seems like he really put effort into the treatment.”
