Arizona will host the most WAC sports championships in six years, with postseason conference titles played at Grand Canyon, as well as Litchifield Park, Mesa and Payson.
The WAC announced its 2024-25 championship host sites on Wednesday, including the return of the WAC Tournament for men’s soccer to GCU. The event will be played at GCU Stadium from Nov. 10-16 for the first time since 2021.
Three other conference titles will be played in Arizona. The WAC men’s golf championship will remain at the Golf Club at Chaparral Pines, where the Lopes will try to win their third straight title April 25-27. The WAC women’s golf championship will remain in Arizona, but will move from Payson to Litchfield Park, where it will be played April 14-16 at Wigwam Golf Club.
The WAC baseball tournament will also not take place. The tournament will take place from May 21 to 14 at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, where the tournament has been held at the Oakland Athletics training facility since 2014.
Arizona has not hosted this many WAC championships (four) since 2017–18, when the state had five sports titles.
In GCU’s final year as a WAC member before joining the West Coast Conference in 2025–26, conference championships will be played in California (one sport), Nevada (two sports), Texas (eight sports), Utah (two sports) and Washington (two sports).
