The latest iPhone 15 series has also seen a price adjustment. The iPhone 15, which was initially priced at Rs 79,900, is now being offered at Rs 79,600. The iPhone 15 Plus, which was originally priced at Rs 89,900, is now available for Rs 89,600. The iPhone 15 Pro price dropped from Rs 134,900 to Rs 129,800, a saving of Rs 5,100. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has been reduced from Rs 159,900 to Rs 154,000, a total reduction of Rs 5,900. “As someone who is an early adopter of iPhones and has been using them for nearly 15 years, I would say if you already have the iPhone 15 series, stick with it and only upgrade to the iPhone 16 if you think you see something compelling in the new iPhones that you can’t resist. Otherwise, you will most likely have little reason to upgrade, especially if you are using an iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. They will also have all the Apple Intelligence features and I’m sure you can live without the minor improvements in cameras and design,” commented one expert.
For those using older iPhone models or planning to upgrade to iPhones, it may make sense to buy the current-generation high-end iPhones, especially the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These models are available at significant discounts and represent a robust upgrade over older generations and support the new Apple Intelligence features. “The iPhone 15 Pros are a significant upgrade over the older generation iPhones, but what makes it even more significant is that they will support all Apple Intelligence features. So you can jump on the AI bandwagon with the current-generation iPhone 15 Pros without costing a fortune, which is likely to be the case with the new iPhones,” the expert added.

However, for those who can easily spend over $100,000 on a phone, the iPhone 16 may be worth waiting for because of the upgrades it’s expected to bring. The iPhone 16 lineup is rumored to include the long-awaited Apple Intelligence features, but that may be delayed until October 2024. Additionally, the non-Pro models may feature the Action button that was previously reserved for the higher-end iPhone 15 versions. With iOS 18 introducing a more customizable Control Center and improved lock screen options, the Action button’s utility may diminish somewhat as users have more flexibility in managing device settings and shortcuts through the software.
“Apple is also reportedly adding a dedicated camera control button on the right side of the iPhone 16 Pro models. This new feature mimics the functionality of DSLR cameras and allows users to press lightly to activate autofocus and press harder to take the shot,” the report said.
The iPhone 16 Pro models are also expected to have slightly larger displays, with the standard Pro model growing from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches and the Pro Max from 6.7 inches to nearly 6.9 inches. Under the hood, the iPhone 16 series is likely to be powered by the new A18 chip. All models in the series are expected to have 8GB of RAM to support the new Apple Intelligence Suite, although details on camera and battery improvements remain under wraps.
