Arch Manning

What to make of Texas in this game? Well, Arch Manning made his first career start, but showed some initial difficulties.

Yes, he had decent stats and threw two touchdowns, but he threw two interceptions. Regardless, don’t set off any alarm bells. Texas still deserves to be the best team in the country.

What should one make of Georgia during a week off? Well, not much really. On the negative side, Tate Ratledge will be out for four to six weeks after ankle surgery.

The good news is that Georgia can prove it’s arguably the best team in the country with a win over Alabama next weekend. Tune in to find out.

Ohio State still had a lot to do after the early deficit, but the 49-14 victory over Marshall was largely cruise control. The defense found its feet and the offense remained calm.

Will Howard was effective, Quinshon Judkins dominated and TreVeyon Henderson contributed to the running game. Oh yeah, freshman Jeremiah Smith scored again.

Alabama, like Georgia, had the weekend off. After a dominant performance in Madison, where the Badgers had no chance, the Crimson Tide were in good form.

College GameDay is coming to Tuscaloosa next weekend, making the UGA-Bama game a must-see on TV. But that’s it, right?

Josh Heupel had a great homecoming as his Tennessee Volunteers defeated his alma mater 25-15. Oklahoma seemed to be out of the game early and couldn’t recover.

They got it done late, but Jackson Arnold was benched and the Vols did enough to remain undefeated. With the win, Tennessee definitely moved up the SEC pecking order.

Ole Miss could have a Heisman quarterback at the end of the season. Jackson Dart just put up more absurd numbers in a 52-13 win over Georgia Southern.

He totaled 382 yards and four touchdowns. But now it’s time to focus on SEC play and really see what this Rebels team can do.

Miami steamrolled USF on Saturday. A final score of 50-15 might seem pretty one-sided, and it is, but the Hurricanes trailed 15-14 at one point.

Still, Cam Ward kept his Heisman campaign going with over 400 yards passing and three touchdowns. The second half? Man, those Hurricanes looked totally different after a rough 30 minutes.

Another team with an off week as Oregon needed some time off after a dominant win over rival Oregon State, the Ducks open Big Ten play next weekend against UCLA.

The Ducks will certainly be the heavy favorites against the Bruins. Based on what we saw last weekend, Oregon has turned things around and is once again a title contender.

Penn State rebounded in style with a 56-0 win over Kent State, which was needed after a closer-than-expected win over Bowling Green two weeks ago.

Drew Allar has found a relatively new target in tight end Tyler Warren. Warren caught five balls for 50 yards and scored a touchdown. He also ran for 16 yards on a direct snap and threw a 16-yard touchdown pass. New weapon unlocked.

10. Utah (+2)

Utah won despite Cam Rising not playing quarterback. Isaac Wilson started again and helped the Utes beat Oklahoma State in a Big 12 ranked game.

Micah Bernard was great, running for 182 yards and getting a crucial first down to run down the clock. The defense also dominated, limiting OKST to less than 300 yards on offense.
