AP Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings Released After Week 3 with New No. 1

The latest AP Top 25 rankings are in after Week 3 of college football, and there have been some shakeups.

College football loves to create chaos, and we had a little of that this weekend. How these stories play out as the season progresses remains to be seen.

Let’s dive into the latest AP Poll top 25 rankings after Week 3.

The Texas Longhorns made a clear statement this weekend: They have two very established quarterbacks. That’s what it seemed like when they switched from Quinn Ewers to Arch Manning.

Manning filled in for the injured Ewers, threw four touchdowns and ran for another. No. 1 recruit? Yep. Manning’s name? Yep. Great quarterback? Yeah, probably.

Georgia? Oops. What was that in Lexington? Is everything OK? Do we need to call someone? No? Okay.

Seriously, Georgia came away with the win whether Kentucky played too cautiously or not. This was a close call and Kirby Smart will surely rally the troops and rebound from a less than stellar win.

Ohio State had a week off and was able to watch the chaos at home, but they’ll be back in action this weekend against Marshall.

Will Howard is solid, as is Caleb Downs on defense. Oh yeah, Quinshon Judkins is the running back, and freshman Jeremiah Smith might be the greatest since Jesus. (Get the Beatles reference?) Ohio State is still one of the best teams in the country.

Alabama crushed Wisconsin in Madison over the weekend. Forget “Jump Around,” because this wasn’t “Sweet Home Wisconsin” or anything like that. The Badgers had no chance at a certain point, especially after Tyler Van Dyke’s injury.

Jalen Milroe scored five touchdowns and that performance definitely put him back on the Heisman card if he wasn’t there already. Kalen DeBoer got his team going on Saturday.

Ole Miss is dominating teams at this rate. Good luck stopping this offense led by Jaxson Dart, who is surely shooting up the draft lists right now.

The 40-6 win over Wake Forest was just the latest example. Dart scored two touchdowns and 377 yards, so it’s safe to say he’s putting up absurd numbers.

Oh dear, just stop fighting right here. Tennessee beat Kent State 71-0 at home and man, after the first quarter it was over.

Here’s the real question: Can Tennessee do it against Oklahoma? History would say no, but man, the Volunteers have 191 total points and have allowed just 13 in three games.

Missouri did an honest job with a win over Boston College that came with a lot of hype. Bill O’Brien got them going, but it was the Tigers who won.

This could be a sign that Mizzou will continue to be on course for success this year after winning the Cotton Bowl last season. Vanderbilt is next in line when Missouri enters SEC play.

Miami rolled over Ball State 62-0 and it was no contest. Cam Ward threw five touchdowns to continue his Heisman campaign.

If things continue like this, Miami can prove itself a serious contender for the national title if the Hurricanes can keep up the pace for a few more weeks. The heat is on in Coral Gables.

Oregon rebounded in great fashion to beat rival Oregon State on the road. It was a dominating performance.

That’s the Oregon we’ll likely see the rest of the year. The Ducks can certainly challenge Ohio State, but now they need to string together a few of these games to prove it.

Penn State had a week off, and it was probably needed after a close game against Bowling Green. So which team is the real Penn State?

Is it the version that went on the road and beat West Virginia, or the version from last week? That’s yet to be determined, but this team gets the benefit of the doubt.
