Let’s break down this week’s top 25 teams from the latest AP poll.

The Bulldogs didn’t have to sweat much in Week 2 as they dominated Tennessee Tech 48-3. It was an FCS opponent, but nothing changed the poll’s opinion of Georgia following wins over Clemson Tennessee Tech.

Carson Beck and the offense were doing well. Meanwhile, the defense held the Eagles to just 134 yards of offense. Next up is Kentucky.

The Longhorns mean business. Now it remains to be seen what kind of team Michigan will be this year, but Texas made a statement in this week’s poll.

The 31-12 victory wasn’t even that close on paper. Quinn Ewers was efficient, the defense was stifling, and Michigan forgot how to attack. Its status as a national title contender is confirmed.

The Buckeyes didn’t need much to beat Western Michigan 56-0 over the weekend. Jeremiah Smith dominated and boy is the freshman really fun to watch.

The polls should look at Ohio State favorably all year if the team plays like this. It’s nice to see a balance between Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson at RB. That’s a dangerous unit.

Alabama and South Florida played another strange game. Sure, the Crimson Tide scored 28 points in the fourth quarter, but it was a one-point game until the final 15 minutes.

Nevertheless, the Crimson Tide won convincingly at least in the end. Kalen DeBoer’s team has no flaws to show so far.

The Rebels were looking to move up in this week’s poll and had a good chance this weekend. But maybe not as good as Jaxson Dart’s early Heisman Trophy prospects.

Dart caught 24 consecutive passes for 377 yards and a touchdown in a 52-3 win over MTSU. SEC play should be interesting, but this team can definitely light up the scoreboard.

Missouri opened the season with two consecutive shutouts and that’s pretty impressive. In addition, the Tigers scored 89 points in the two games.

Eli Drinkwitz is getting the team going right now. Sure, SEC play hasn’t started yet, but there’s no doubt Missouri will bring some magic from 2023.

Nico Iamaleava is a dog, there’s no denying that now. For two weeks in a row he looked like the best player on the field.

If he’s that good, Tennessee isn’t a team to trifle with. It seems like there are a lot of teams vying to catch Georgia or at least become the breakout team in the SEC. Tennessee could be just that considering the Volunteers potentially have the best quarterback.

Penn State had some problems with Bowling Green. So much so that at some points during Saturday’s game, people were already thinking defeat.

But in the end, the better team won, we think? It might just be a blip on the Nittany Lions’ radar as they move forward in the schedule. On paper, this team should be competing with Ohio State for the top spot in the Big Ten.

Oregon narrowly defeated Boise State in a thrilling game on Saturday night. While some may want to punish the Ducks for their lackluster performance and narrow loss in two weeks, the coaches did not.

On paper, Dan Lanning and Co. are still in a good position and the season is still long. In the next 10 games, they could be right.

Cam Ward did not have a high opinion of Florida and the swamp.

The Miami Hurricanes are real, right? They have to be after dominating Florida and then Florida A&M. We can at least say Mario Crisotbal’s team is the best in the Sunshine State.

All kidding aside, Cam Ward has early Heisman rumors this season and is by far the best team in the ACC. That’s just what the doctor ordered in South Florida.
