Another semi-trailer has been found parked on the Route 15 off-ramp near the Maynard Street interchange in Williamsport | News, Sports, Jobs

PHIL HOLMES/Sun-Gazette

For the second time in just over four weeks, a semi-trailer truck traveling south on Route 15 in Williamsport crashed around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning and went over an embankment.

A Williamsport police officer and a passerby helped the driver out of the wreckage, city fire officials said.

The driver, Scott Case, 56, of Troy, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport for medical treatment. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

According to fire department estimates, about 46 meters of the railing were swept away in the accident.

The tanker truck was a tanker carrying an estimated 10,000 gallons of milk. It is unknown how much milk, if any, spilled.

Bressler’s Towing had two heavy-duty tow trucks on the scene within 30 minutes. The off-ramp west of the Maynard Street interchange was closed until about 1 p.m.

The same scenario played out on the southern branch of Route 15 when a truck crashed on July 8 and another on May 2.

The state transport ministry was also on site within minutes of the accident.
