Another original Community star confirms his return in the highly anticipated film

Community premiered on NBC in 2009 and has since become a popular sitcom. After the final season premiered in 2015, there were talks of a movie continuing the story, and now an original star has confirmed his return in the highly anticipated project.




In a new interview with Parade to promote her upcoming care podcast, SqueezedYvette Nicole Brown confirmed that she is excited to return in the film. Brown played Shirley Bennett, a divorced mother who attends community college to open a brownie business. She was a main character in the first five seasons and appeared as a guest star in season 6.

Community actor Joel McHale gives the latest status update on the much-discussed film based on the sitcom of the same name.

The question of the long-awaited Community Brown confirmed that she will be involved and that “it’s going to happen.” The actress also explains that production on the film was supposed to begin but was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2024.


It will happen! We don’t know when, but I’m inconfirmed Brown. And This could be a big deal as it hasn’t been confirmed for a long time. It was supposed to happen this June, but because of the (SAG-AFTRA) strike last year, everything got postponed.”

When talking about her future plans, Brown also admitted that she would like to star in a multi-season sitcom like Friends, Seinfeldor The Big Bang Theory“People may not believe it, but I am not a very ambitious person. But there are other things I would like to do: I would like to be in a multi-camera sitcom that runs for 10 years. I would like to have a Friends or Seinfeld or Big Bang Theory.” Brown added: “And I think I have a talk show in me. I would love to do one that is inspirational, celebrates people’s successes and is a nice destination for the afternoon. I also like to use my voice in advocacy and philanthropy.” Since talk shows are not that easy, that sounds pretty ambitious.

The film was teased for many years, but Peacock officially ordered the Community The film will be released in September 2022, with Harmon and Andrew Guest confirmed as writers. Several original actors were quick to confirm their return in the upcoming sequel. McHale (Jeff), Pudi (Abed), Donald Glover (Troy), Brie (Annie), Jacobs (Britta), Jim Rash (Craig Pelton) and Ken Jeong (Ben Chang) will all return alongside Brown. One person who will not be returning is Chevy Chase.”I don’t think he should be allowed to return,“ McHale told IndieWire in May of this year.

So far there is no official start of production for the Community The film is scheduled to begin production in January 2018, but Donald Glover said his busy schedule would not hinder filming.
