“Angels should play for recently fired Farhan Zaidi”.

The Los Angeles Angels ended another season without a sniff of the postseason. The 2024 season was the tenth consecutive season in which the Angels missed the postseason. It’s been 10 years since they made the postseason and 15 years since they won a playoff game.

The last decade hasn’t been fun for the Angels, and while they’ve made changes by far, it might be time for a leadership change. That’s what the San Francisco Giants did on Monday when they fired president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi. This change could bring a new wave of hope and potential to the angels.

After seven years at the helm, the Giants decided to go in a different direction by hiring former Giant catcher and future Hall of Famer Buster Posey. His appointment has sparked a wave of optimism around the Giants, even though it just happened, and a similar figure could usher in a new era of success for the Angels.

Posey is now in charge of the Giants and Zaidi will look for a new job if one opens up this year. Could this job be the angels?

It should be.

The Angels have struggled in every aspect, be it production on the field or in the front office. It’s been a disaster for some time, and perhaps a change of president could be the first step.

For the past 16 years, John Carpino has been the team’s president. He became the eighth president in the team’s history and has nothing to show for it.

The Angels have finished either fourth or fifth in their division seven times in the last decade. Carpino is underperforming as president, and a position change could be what the Angels need.

Although Zaidi has had little success as Giants president, that could change with the Halos. All he needs is a front office that trusts him, something the Giants failed to do toward the end of his tenure.

Zaidi could have another chance to bring the Dodger magic he experienced during his five-year stay there. He has a lot of first office experience. Before his stint with the Dodgers, he spent a decade working his way up the Oakland A’s front office.

The Angels desperately need a change in the front office and Zaidi could be the man for the job. Ultimately, it’s up to Angels owner Arte Moreno.
