And now the first Cross-Canadian Ragweed article in 13 years?

What in Tom Skinner’s name is going on on Facebook right now? Late Sunday evening (15.9.) something happened that had not happened for almost 13 years. Did you see it? Can that mean the word with “R”?

There was an update on the Cross Canadian Ragweed Facebook page that left fans hoping, wishing and scratching their heads. It appears to be their iconic ragweed logo wrapped in a maroon velvet curtain. Very cryptic.

It might be really easy to assume too much here, we’re not even sure who currently has access to the site. And we all know that Cody made it very clear to Canada that Ragweed would never get back together.

I was really mad. It was predictable, we saw it coming. When you look at a band that breaks up, you can see the date they split and go back and see it coming… When the split actually happened, it was lost in a heated argument. There was a lot of anger, and the next day I was a bit scared… Sixteen years is a long time… a reunion is never going to happen. (WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW HERE)

For those too young to know what Koe Wetzel’s song “Ragweed” is about, it’s about Cross Canadian Ragweed. Ragweed, led by Cody Canada, was one of the most influential Oklahoma or Texas bands of all time, a band that ushered in the Red Dirt era in the late ’90s. READ MORE ABOUT RED DIRT HERE.

For now, we keep our fingers crossed and hope that something changes and the long-awaited Ragweed reunion happens.

Cross between Canadian Ragweed was formed in 1994 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Consisting of Cody Canada Grady Cross, Randy Ragsdale and Jeremy Plato. The group released five studio albums and three live albums from 1994 until their dissolution in 2010.
