Amtrak has launched a special rate for the legendary Auto Train. The price is only $34 for adults and $17 for children ages 2 to 12, plus the cost of the vehicle. All aboard – including your vehicle!

The Car train offers daily nonstop service between Lorton, Virginia (near Washington, DC) and Sanford in Central Florida (near Orlando). Customers can travel in a variety of vehicle types – including cars, vans, motorcycles, SUVs, small boats, jet skis and more. This is the only such service in the U.S.

Not only does rail travel eliminate the stress associated with driving and flying, it’s also one of the most sustainable ways to travel. When traveling with Amtrak, customers can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by up to 83% compared to driving and up to 72% compared to flying.

Customers travelling in Economy Class enjoy wide, comfortable reclining seats with plenty of legroom, no middle seats and a large panoramic window to enjoy the view. Café service is available for customers to purchase meals, snacks and drinks. A complimentary continental breakfast is served before arrival.

For added comfort and privacy, customers can book a First Class Private Room – with priority boarding, complimentary meals on board, a dedicated First Class agent and new, high-quality linens, pillows, towels and bedding. Accommodation options include a Roomette – with two comfortable seats that convert into upper and lower beds at night – or a Bedroom, which offers twice the space of a Roomette and an in-room sink, toilet and shower.
