CBS and DIck Clark Productions have announced nine artists who will perform at the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special on October 6, including Mariah Carey, Green Day, Stray Kids, Jennifer Hudson, Kane Brown, Raye, Gladys Knight, Brad Paisley and Chaka Khan in the first talent rollout for the live broadcast.

Additionally, the two-hour special will feature appearances from Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan and former AMAs host Jimmy Kimmel, producers announced.

The channel revealed what many of the cast will be doing on the television show. Carey will perform a medley of songs from her album “The Emancipation of Mimi” to honor the anniversary of that recording – her 20th. Hudson will pay tribute to Whitney Houston, who won 22 AMAs in her lifetime.

K-pop group Stray Kids will pay homage to the boy bands. Raye will sing James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” and review the winners of the American Music Award of Merit. Kane Brown will sing a medley of past and present country hits.

Khan is on board to sing her own classic “I’m Every Woman.” Knight will perform “Midnight Train to Georgia,” 50 years after she performed it at the first AMAs show in 1974.

Green Day will perform current single “Dilemma.” And Paisley will pay tribute to Charley Pride and release a brand new single.

The special broadcast will air on the fall date once announced for the standard annual edition of the American Music Awards, which was pushed back to May 2025 with the announcement of plans for the anniversary broadcast. The show last aired on ABC in November 2022.

The 50th anniversary special will air live coast-to-coast on CBS on October 6 and can be seen live on the East Coast from 8-10 p.m. and on the West Coast from 5-7 p.m. It can also be viewed at this time or on demand by Paramount+ With Showtime subscribers; Paramount+ Essential subscribers can watch it the next day.
