Amarillo League of Women Voters offers regional groups a presentation on voting

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The Amarillo League of Women Voters is offering to host free presentations on voting and elections ahead of the November election.

Local organizations, clubs and other interested groups can request a presentation of the course “Civics 101: Voting and Elections” from the League.

To submit a request for a presentation, contact the Amarillo League of Women Voters at 806-337-2148 or [email protected].

Claudia Stravato, the league’s first vice president, says the group is pleased to be able to offer this information to residents of the Amarillo area.

“We have found that there remain significant concerns about the legality of the election process in the United States and in Texas, so this presentation is designed for those who want to learn more about county voting procedures as set forth by the Texas Secretary of State, as well as the election process and other related topics that will help clarify any questions voters may have before they head to the polls on November 5,” Stravato said.

The league says the presentation is based on its basic civics course.

According to Stravato, the league wants local voters to understand the process, including security measures to protect election integrity.

“We have thoroughly researched the topic of local government, voting and elections for our Civics 101 project and we feel a responsibility to educate the public about how elections are conducted in Potter and Randall counties,” Stravato said.
