Almost record temperatures are expected today; forecast hardly changes

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Our streak of hot days on the Gulf Coast continues! Today we could set another record high in Mobile. Our forecast predicts temperatures of over 95 degrees in many areas today, with the hottest temperatures on the coast. A heat advisory was also issued today for our coastal areas. We expect little change in our forecast for the future. Temperatures will remain hot and the chance of rain is low.

TODAY:

Temperatures are expected to rise quickly this morning! We can expect to reach the 30s by late morning and over 35 degrees in some areas this afternoon. Those who have to go to school today may need an extra bottle of water for the bus ride! It will be muggy when the kids go to school and it will be sweltering on the ride home. Anyone exercising after school today should stay hydrated and prepare for the heat by the evening. Temperatures will be over 25 degrees tonight.

WEEKEND:

There is a slight chance of rain this weekend. The main danger will continue to be the intense heat. We can expect highs of between 35 and 40 degrees every afternoon, with muggy mornings continuing.

TROPICS:

We are continuing to track Debby, which has now moved inland over the Carolinas. The storm will continue to dump heavy rains, but should disappear from the weather pattern by Friday.
