If A’ja Wilson wanted to avoid rumors about a relationship with Bam Adebayo, her teammates and the mayor of Miami-Dade are certainly no help.

Fans have been convinced for months that A’ja and Bam are a couple. The two basketball players were spotted together in Las Vegas earlier this year and the rumor mill was rife. Things got even louder during the Olympics when fans learned of a subtle handshake between Aja and Bam after the US women’s team won gold.

On Wednesday, rumors of a relationship started again when A’ja was in the audience when Bam was presented with the keys to the city of Miami. The mayor of Miami-Dade County made things really awkward by addressing A’ja and acknowledging the star’s presence by saying, “I guess this has something to do with Bam and the Heat.”

As you can imagine, the clip quickly spread across social media, and A’ja Wilson’s teammates (Sydney Colson and Chelsea Gray) didn’t help matters.

Aj’a then joined the conversation by sharing a top-notch Jerry Spring meme that neither confirmed nor denied anything, but certainly got fans in the mood.

And not to be left out, Bam apparently joined the chat with his own thoughts.
