AGATHA ALL ALONG Showrunner on the fate of Wanda … and the Scarlet Witch! SPOILER

The first two episodes of the latest Disney+ series from Marvel Studios, Agatha all the timeare now streaming and the season premiere seemed to confirm this fate of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen).

After her rampage in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessthe former Avenger buried herself under the rubble of Mount Wundagore. A flash of red light led to speculation that she might have survived, but the first episode of Agatha All Along makes it pretty clear that the stranger Detective Agnes finds is “truly dead.”

So, the Scarlet Witch might be dead… but what about Wanda?

The Wrap Showrunner Jac Schaeffer asked about the character’s fate, wondering if perhaps “the crash killed the Scarlet Witch, but not Wanda herself.”

“I keep such a good poker face. What I will say is that I really like the way your mind works.” teased Schaeffer. “This is my answer to that theory.”

Schaeffer remained tight-lipped about a possible cameo appearance by Olsen, but did not rule out the possibility. “This is Agatha Harkness’ show. So what I’m saying is that Agatha is a woman at the center.”

It’s almost certain that Olsen will reprise the role later, but we’ve heard conflicting reports about her involvement in this series – although the fact that Wanda/Scarlet Witch is mentioned so often in the first four episodes makes the case for a cameo in the finale.

The new series focuses on Kathryn Hahn’s character Agatha Harkness from the acclaimed Marvel Studios series WandaVisionas she embarks on a dangerous, mysterious adventure full of ups and downs. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer, the creative force behind WandaVision, is directing the pilot episode.

“In Agatha All Along, the infamous Agatha Harkness is left devastated and powerless after a suspicious goth teen helps her break free from a twisted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to lead him down the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical challenge of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what she has been missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen assemble a desperate coven and set off down the road…”

In addition to Kathryn Hahn, Agatha All Along stars Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, with Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos and Jac Schaeffer. The series is directed by Jac Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero.
