Advance ticket sales for the champagne lunch and fashion show at the Veterans Guest House

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Veterans Guest House is a local nonprofit that helps veterans and their families seeking medical treatment in the Reno/Sparks area. This fall they are hosting a champagne luncheon and fashion show

Sylvia Froslie, CEO of Veterans Guest House, stopped by Morning Break to invite the community to the celebratory event. The fashion show will be hosted by Katey Roshetko of KOLO 8 Morning Break and Rebecca Kitchen of Good Morning Reno.

The fundraiser will take place on Friday, October 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. The event is open to the public and interested individuals can book a table here.

Attendees will be greeted with complimentary champagne and have the opportunity to browse the silent auction and raffle items or enter a wine raffle before enjoying lunch. The fashion show will feature accomplished female models showcasing styles curated by local retailers such as Labels Consignment Boutique.

Currently, the Veterans Guest House is operating at above-average capacity, with all beds consistently occupied and additional reservations going to a local hotel that partners with the nonprofit. The continued demand can be attributed to several factors: increased awareness of this resource among veterans, increased need due to inflation, and a reduction in stigmas or barriers that have previously prevented veterans from seeking care. While the high number of overnight stays continues to impact the house’s operations, leaders of the organization continue to invite Northern Nevada residents and businesses to support the organization financially by sponsoring events such as the Champagne Luncheon & Fashion Show Fundraiser or by making in-kind donations.

The 2024 Champagne Luncheon & Fashion Show is sponsored in part by Panasonic, First Independent Bank and Bill Pearce Courtesy Honda. Tables and sponsorships are still available and interested persons can find more information here.
