Adele is ready for a break from the spotlight.

During the last show of her Munich engagement on Saturday (August 31), the 36-year-old British singer confirmed her plan to take a longer break from music after the end of her engagement in Las Vegas in the fall.

“I just need a break. I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now,” Adele told the audience in the Adele Arena in Munich, which was built especially for her. “I want to live the life I’ve built for myself and I’m going to miss you terribly.”

The “Easy on Me” singer’s 10-day run in the German city ended on Saturday. Her Weekends With Adele residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Sin City will continue for another 10 performances in October.

“But after that, I won’t see you for an incredibly long time,” said the singer. “And I will carry you in my heart during my entire break.”

Adele announced earlier this summer that she would be taking a break from music after her performance in Las Vegas.

“I have no plans for new music at all,” she told the German ZDF. In fact, the star, who said she “doesn’t like being famous,” added, “I want my big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

Adele launched her “Weekends With Adele” series in November 2022. She said that after performing 100 live shows over the past two years, she felt like her “tank was completely empty.”

The singer, who has been touring in 2016-2017 in support of her 25 album, has made it a habit to take time for herself between albums and tours. These periods away from the public eye have increased over time, from three years between her debut in 2008, 19and 2011 21until their 2015 LP 25 and six between this album and 2021 30.

During one of her Weekend shows in January, Adele told the audience, “I just don’t think I’m going to write an album any time soon,” and hinted that if she did, she might go on a proper tour again.
