Adam Shearer, 42, had a domestic dispute with his wife, Renee Shearer, around 4:30 a.m. on August 20. Renee told officers that she and Adam had an argument about his cell phone that led to a fight. She further stated that Adam hit her first and that she only hit back in self-defense.

When police spoke to Adam, he also confirmed they had a verbal argument over his phone, but stated that Renee hit him first. Officers found Adam had a cut on his head and Renee had a large bump on her forehead. Since Renee called 911, Adam was considered the primary offender and was arrested for the incident. Adam Shearer was taken into custody for domestic violence.

Adam M. Shearer, of 25th Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 20 and charged with domestic violence. He is free on $1,000 bail.
