Adam Pearce reflects on WWE contract signing call

Adam Pearce has been highly praised for his time as General Manager of WWE RAW and is considered one of the greatest authority figures on screen in recent memory. Since he has been in wrestling for so long, fans are wondering if he will ever step back into the ring.

In an episode of “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” Pearce discussed these questions and detailed how he ended up where he is today. Pearce said that in 2012, someone he greatly respected called him and that changed everything for him within WWE.

They asked him a question that would change his life forever. “‘Hey man, if I told you I could get you a job that you could keep for the next 25 years, but it meant you never had to put your boots on again, what would you say?’ And I said, ‘When do I start?'” Pearce recalled.

WWE tryout for Adam Pearce

WWE officially invited him to try out in August of that year. He described it as a unique experience, as he was considering retirement at the time, while most people there were still hoping to get their foot in the door.

“I was kind of reaching the end of my dream and yeah, it was going great,” Pearce said. When Pearce was asked if he would get back into wrestling himself, he answered with a resounding no. “I’ve been done for ten years.”

“December 21st this year will be the tenth day of my last professional fight,” he revealed. Although he has retired from competitive sport, Pearce made sure everyone knew that he too has experienced some truly great moments behind the ropes.

He mentioned a win over Shinsuke Nakamura and even a shot at the World Tag Team Titles with Braun Strowman. While Adam himself may no longer be wearing lace-up boots, his influence on WWE programming continues to grow stronger each week, cementing a legacy that will be remembered both on camera and behind the scenes.
