Action-packed Vermont Tire & Service Night welcomes Thursday Faithful to Thunder Road – eagletimes.com

BARRE, Vermont — Thursday night racing returns to Thunder Road this week as the second of three events in an eight-day stretch during the busy month of August. An action-packed Vermont Tire & Service Night greets racing fans with two Flying Tiger features, including the second round of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series, as well as the Late Models, Street Stocks and Road Warriors. Don’t forget that Vermont Tire & Service Night is also the annual kids’ poster contest, and all Vermont Black Bears hockey players in uniform receive free admission.

The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are the highlight of Vermont Tire & Service Night and will kick off the program on Thursday with the rain-delayed second round of the Myers Container Service Triple Crown. Twenty-six drivers qualified for Sunday’s 75-lap race and all are expected to be back in the field on Thursday. In addition to battling for Triple Crown honors ahead of the series championship next Thursday, the Flying Tigers will return for a FloRacing Double Purse event later in the program.

Kaiden Fisher continues to lead the Maplefield/Irving Late Model field and is now the second driver to score multiple wins in the division after Sunday’s 50-lap victory. While Fisher has made some progress on the King of the Road In the battle for the championship, Brandon Lanphear, with his calm consistency, has taken third place behind the three-time king Scott Dragon. Lanphear and the Green’s ACE Hardware team have done a great job this season and the Morrisville driver is hoping to score his first win of the season on Thursday.

Also winless this season is rk Miles Street Stock points leader Dean Switser Jr. The Waterford driver has been on the podium several times this season but has yet to snag the gold ring on his way to his second on-track championship in New England’s most competitive four-cylinder division. After winning the 50-lap special and finishing in the top 10 in Sunday’s 25-lap main race, Trevor Jaques has returned to second on the points list and has plenty of opportunities to reclaim the top spot this season. With rain delays primarily affecting the Street Stocks, the rk Miles Street Stock Triple Crown will conclude Sunday night, which has been rescheduled for the Community College of Vermont.

The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will also return to Vermont Tire & Service Night to conduct their final test and tune-up before Sunday’s rescheduled 50-lap race. Challenge.

Thunder Road is back in action this Thursday, August 15th for Vermont Tire & Service Night at The Road. The four divisions will compete for the second FloRacing Double Purse of the summer season at the Nation’s Site of Excitement, plus there will be major family excitement with the Kids Poster Contest and all Vermont Black Bears hockey players in uniform will receive free admission. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, August 15th with general admission for adults being $15, children ages 12-6 being $5 and children under 5 being free. The Family Four Pack (two adults, two children) is also available for $30.
