Aaron Rodgers appears to reject Robert Saleh’s hug after TD

play

Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh were both motivated after the New York Jets took a 14-0 lead over the New England Patriots in the second quarter of their “Thursday Night Football” game.

However, it seemed that Rodgers thought his head coach was a bit to excited after Breece Hall’s touchdown run.

Rodgers was happy to give Saleh a quick handshake, but when his head coach tried to hug him, Rodgers appeared to push him away, according to a video of the Amazon Prime broadcast.

Rodgers followed his armbar with an icy glare at Saleh, putting the cherry on top of the most embarrassing moment of TNF’s first half.

It’s not clear why Rodgers pushed his coach aside. He seemed upset and certainly said something to Saleh during the altercation.

Perhaps the 40-year-old quarterback wanted to offer constructive criticism to the coach. Or perhaps Rodgers just wanted to stay in the zone after getting off to a strong start in the game, completing 12 of 14 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown.

Whatever the case, Rodgers and Saleh will likely be asked to speak at the postgame meeting. Until then, NFL fans are left to speculate about what happened in the most interesting five seconds of the first half.
