Aaron Hernandez’s former teammate Kyle Arrington says he won’t watch the FX series

Super Bowl champion Kyle Arrington, whose career briefly overlapped with that of late NFL star and convicted murderer Aaron Hernandez, says he won’t be among the many expected to tune in to the new FX series about the disgraced ex-player.

“Having experienced it myself, I don’t think I’m necessarily going to watch it myself,” he said Wednesday on FOX 5. Arrington played eight seasons in the NFL, six of them with the New England Patriots. He was a teammate of Hernandez from 2010 to 2012.

“I’m sure a lot of people will tune in, but I think I’ll sit it out this time,” he said.

The series traces the problematic and violent rise and fall of the late New England Patriots tight end.

Hernandez committed suicide in 2017 while serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. His death came just days after he was acquitted of most charges in the double murder case. Doctors posthumously diagnosed the 27-year-old with advanced chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease associated with repeated head trauma common in the NFL.
