A warm end to summer and beginning of the autumn season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A mostly sunny day is in store. Highs will again be in the upper 30s, near 35 degrees. The late September warmth is expected to continue through the weekend as we now officially begin fall.

MORNING: Another day of mostly sunny skies and highs in the 90s. Parts of eastern Arkansas may see a chance of a sudden shower during the first half of the day. Most will stay dry until Friday night’s football games.

WEEKEND FORECAST: A warmer, not-so-autumn weekend is in store. Highs through Sunday will be in the 90s. A few scattered showers could sneak into the area on Saturday, especially in areas north of 1-40. Most of the weekend will be dry, though, with a good mix of sun and clouds each afternoon. The autumn equinox, which marks the official start of fall, occurs at 7:43 a.m. Sunday.

EXTENDED FORECAST: We will see a slow buildup to more fall-like weather conditions over the next work week, with a cold front moving through the region mid-week. This could bring some showers to the area and cooler temperatures by the end of the work week.
