Police bodycam footage of Tyreek Hill’s arrest before the Dolphins’ first home game on Sunday shows officers discussing his profession.
A police officer, apparently looking at Hill’s ID, questioned his colleague about the recipient’s behavior in the clip – while Hill was nearby, handcuffed and lying facedown on the ground for allegedly speeding before Miami’s win over Jacksonville on Sunday.
“Why is he acting like that?” an officer asked as Hill could be heard screaming in the background. “You know who that is, right?”

The other policeman replied, “No?”
“That’s one of the Dolphins’ star players,” the officer said, pointing in Hill’s direction.
“Oh yeah? Shit,” said the other cop.
Several officers were on the scene when Hill was stopped and detained outside Hard Rock Stadium on his way to the start of a new season.

The South Florida Police Benevolent Association said in a statement that Hill was arrested for “driving in a manner that placed himself and others in grave danger.”
According to the PBA, Hill was then handcuffed because he “did not immediately cooperate.”
Hill received two tickets as a result of his traffic stop, including for reckless driving and failure to wear a seatbelt, ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported Monday.

The 30-year-old wide receiver had previously stated that he did not know why he was handcuffed and dragged from his vehicle and that he felt he had been respectful to the police officers.
“It just went from 0 to 60, man, from the moment those guys pulled up behind me and knocked on my window, it went from 0 to 60 in an instant,” Hill told NBC News Monday night.
During the incident, Hill told police, “Okay, brother, take me to jail. Do what you have to do.”

Other footage showed a police officer knocking on the driver’s side of his black sports car and ordering him to roll down the window.
One of the officers at the scene was placed on leave and the Miami-Dade Police Department launched an internal investigation into the case on Sunday.
Hill scored an 80-yard touchdown and performed a handcuff celebration ceremony in the Dolphins’ 20-17 victory on Sunday.
The Dolphins have a short week before facing the Bills at home on Thursday.
