A passionate cook and truck driver turned food blogger earns Rs 10 lakh/month as an influencer

A truck driver who decided to become a YouTube influencer rose to fame through his passion and love for cooking. A report in NDTV identified him as Rajesh Rawani, who told that the most he earned in a month from his cooking videos was Rs 10 lakh.

Rawani is far less familiar with Indian roads, as he has been driving for two decades. In his cooking videos, he can be seen in his truck near the driver’s seat, explaining what he is going to cook today. He uses only Indian spices and carries containers with him.

He has named his YouTube channel R Rajesh Vlogs and has more than 1.86 million subscribers. Thanks to his passion for cooking and dedication to his online work, Rawani has earned enough to buy a new house. In an interview with the publication, he said that he is currently building his new house and recalled an accident in which he was injured.

Rawani remembers that he continued driving despite his hand injury because he had to provide for his family and support the construction of his house.

Rawani said that as a truck driver, he usually earns Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 a month. However, he added that his income as an influencer has increased and fluctuates depending on the number of viewers – it is usually between Rs 400,000 and Rs 500,000, with his best month earning Rs 100,000.

Recalling his first viral video, Rawani added, “I posted a video with voiceover and people kept asking me to show my face. So my son made a video showing my face and it got 450,000 views in just one day.”

The food blogger further said that he is able to run both his chauffeur service and his YouTube channel only because of the support of his family. He then recalled how his father, who was also a driver, was the sole breadwinner for the family of five. He recalled how his father used to send him Rs 500 every week, after which the family was forced to take loans.
