What happens when you fall in love with someone you haven’t seen yet and they don’t look quite how you imagined?

Love Is Blind actress Hannah Jiles faced this problem before she met her fiancé Nick Dorka in Season 7 of the Netflix series.

Before they met in person, Hannah expressed her fears in a confessional session.

“Worst case, it’s super, super tiny and I feel like I could throw it in my bag or something. But my biggest fear right now is that he will see me and he won’t like what he sees,” she said.

Then came the moment of truth. When Nick first saw Hannah, he called her “absolutely beautiful.”

They both joked that even though she was wearing high heels, she was taller than him. In a confessional interview, Nick said that the height difference didn’t bother him at all.

“Maybe she was a little taller than me, which is funny – she’s 5’10” in heels. “But I love this, it’s perfect. That’s what I love about her,” he said.

Hannah asked Nick if she looked the way he imagined and he said, “Of course.”

In her own confessional interview, Hannah said her fiancé looked different than she expected. Nick compared himself to a “less athletic version” of actor Henry Cavill.

“In the pods, he described himself as a soccer player – taller, medium height, about 5’10” tall. “And what he said I don’t think is actually true,” she said. “It makes me a little insecure because I feel like I’m bigger than him.”

When the newly engaged couple traveled to Mexico for a romantic getaway, Hannah explained her initial reaction to Nick.

“When I first met Nick during the reveal it was shocking. He built himself differently than he is “The best-looking guy in the room,” she said. “It really took me a second to really understand who he was and who I was in love with.”

Hannah went on to say that Nick quickly made her feel “very at home” and that she was now “physically attracted” to him.

Hannah tells TODAY.com that it took her some time to reconcile her vision of him with reality.

“I had this person in my mind’s eye. And no matter what happens, you will build that person. “So when you see her and she doesn’t exactly look like that person, it’s just shocking and it’s different,” she says. “You just have to match the voice to the face. So there was a lot of confusion and shock, and I Had to find out.”

Once the couple arrived in Mexico and were able to spend some time together, Hannah says she had time to adjust her expectations.

“That person you imagined in your head is no longer there. And then Nick is that person, and if you get over it, it’s normal,” she says.

Nick reacts to Hannah’s reaction

Nick, who had not yet seen the first six episodes of Love Is Blind’s seventh season when TODAY.com interviewed him, says he was unaware of Hannah’s reaction to his appearance.

“I said I was an active guy. I used to play football, that’s it. I guess it’s not about looks, right? It’s about the connection you build and finding someone who matches your energy and mood.” You know, I didn’t focus too much on looks, but I mean, I’m a big one Guy, right?” he says.
