A “Bachelorette,” a convicted con artist, and the guy with the side horse join the “DWTS” cast

“Dancing With the Stars” is back and according to this season’s cast list, all of the regular characters are there.

The 18-time Emmy-winning reality series announced On Wednesday morning, new celebrity talent will compete for the Season 33 Mirrorball trophy. While the names may be new, the casting archetypes they represent are not.

Playing the role of the scandalous reality TV star – last played by Ariana Madix in season 32 – is Phaedra Parks, who recently returned to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after a six-year hiatus. Parks was fired from the Bravo show in 2009 after admitting to starting a rumor that she was raped by other cast members.

Meanwhile, Reginald VelJohnson of ’90s Fact Check is this season’s most popular sitcom star – a title previously held by How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan, and before her Florence Henderson of Three Girls and Three Boys and her TV son Barry Williams. Anna Delvey (Sorokin), the “fake heiress” who defrauded New York’s social elite, is the wild card making headlines. (Other notables in this category include Bristol Palin, Kate Gosselin and Schapelle Corby, who served nine years in an Indonesian prison for drug smuggling.)

As for the show’s well-known sports personalities, there are four in this season: NBA champion Dwight Howard, former NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola and Olympians Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedoroscik, better known as the rugby star and the “Guy with the pommel horse.”

Nedoroscik, who was announced last month as the first competitor on Season 33, won an individual bronze medal at the men’s gymnastics team final in Paris and also helped his team win the bronze medal – the first individual medal for Team USA since 2016 and the first team medal in 16 years.

“I want to bring some of that gymnastics into the dance competition,” he told “Good Morning America” after the announcement. “Maybe a backflip or a handstand.”

Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles and Suni Lee already took part in the 24th and 30th seasons of “DWTS”.
