The Tell me lies The explosive season two premiere has everything fans have been wanting: chaos, toxicity, and the ongoing disarray of Stephen and Lucy.
Hulu released the first two episodes of the second season on Wednesday, September 4, and the series immediately jumped back into the drama. When Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White) were preparing to return to college after an unpleasant breakup, it became glaringly clear to viewers that neither of them was over their relationship. Lucy, who pretended everything was fine, seemed more annoyed than ever by Stephen’s continued fuckboy behavior.
The reunion of the fictional ex-couple on campus was awkward, to say the least. How will this develop over the rest of the season? Only time will tell.
Tell me lies Season 2 is a continuation of the world written by Carola Lovering in her book of the same name. The first season of the Hulu show ended in November 2022 with a stunning finale in which it was revealed that Lucy’s childhood best friend Lydia (Natalee Linez) was engaged to Stephen.
Tell Me Lies dealt with some extremely toxic relationships, steamy sex scenes and shocking deaths – and the second season will continue to throw obstacles in the way of the main characters. The second season begins in the present with scenes that suggest that big secrets are at play. Lydia even suggests that Lucy is the one responsible for their argument. However, most of the story is told through constant flashbacks that Us Embarrassment when we think about our own college days.

What caused Lydia to end her friendship with Lucy?
In the present, there is a tense scene between Lucy and Lydia where they refuse to discuss the subject. As Lucy tries to pull herself together after seeing Stephen – who she apparently still has feelings for – Lydia interrupts her and things seem awkward but polite.
Lydia, however, changes the mood in the room when she reminds Lucy that she will never forgive her for anything. What is that something? Us has some ideas.
Lucy and Stephen’s passive-aggressive reunion(s)
There’s nothing worse than seeing your ex when you’re going through the breakup phase – especially when you keep having these clashes. Lucy’s attempt to show her how much she’s thriving doesn’t work because Stephen stirs up her emotional wounds. Lucy gets revenge by smashing his new iPhone (what a sign of the times), which only motivates Stephen to continue to be a part of her life, but more on that later.
The most ridiculous moment between the two comes when Stephen sits with Lucy and her new crush Leo (Thomas Doherty), just to point out how much he hurt her. How these two go from enemies to lovers remains unclear, but Us would have expected nothing else.
Stephen’s embarrassing speech
It would be negligent of Us to keep Stephen’s moronic speech at the aforementioned lunch between Lucy and Leo in mind. Stephen, blatantly ignoring the fact that he is not wanted, sits down to admit that he has been thinking about Lucy “a lot lately” and wanted to apologize.
“I embarrassed you over and over again and you always forgave me no matter what. I’m sure you felt terrible about it,” he explains. “It probably undermined any sense of dignity you had. That’s my fault and I own it.”
So, be honest.
The illegal affair
Tell me lies gives pretty Little Liars Couple Ezra and Aria a tough fight with Bree’s (St. Catherine’s Missal) secret romance with a professor named Oliver (Tom Ellis).
The two meet when they smoke a cigarette together at a party hosted by Oliver’s wife Marianne (Gabriella Pession). Sparks fly when they keep running into each other after work at an off-campus bar. Bree admits she was looking for Oliver to feel something, and they finally meet in his office.
Pippa and Diana’s surprising romance
While viewers are impressed by ex-girlfriends Pippa (Sonia Mena) and Wrigley (Spencer House) whose paths cross in today’s timeline, Tell me lies laid the groundwork for an epic reveal. Pippa hints that there was someone in her life who wasn’t so serious, only to go home and reunite with Diana (Alicia Crowder).

Lydia’s brother Chris is the absolute worst
As soon as Lydia introduced her brother Chris (Jacob Rodriguez), it was obvious that fans had to keep an eye on him. Chris initially seemed like a nice guy adjusting to life as a college freshman. However, his constant interaction with Lucy and her friends led to an awkward situation with Pippa.
It’s all about love! While fans watched their characters explore complicated relationships in Tell Me Lies, the cast of the hit Hulu series also saw sparks fly in their own love lives off-screen. A very drunk – and presumably unconscious – Pippa is discovered after it looks like someone has locked her in a room. It seems that Chris is not as nice as he looks when it turns out that she was in his bedroom. It seems pretty obvious what Chris was up to, what Us I think that the plot could be the reason for the rift between Lucy and Lydia.
Stephen makes (another) crazy decision
Stephen hesitates one day when he leaves one of his lecture halls and finds that Lucy is in class after him. Naturally, a plan begins to form and Stephen asks the professor to step in as a teaching assistant for that section of the class. While it’s unclear what will happen next, it can’t be good!
