Bill Belichick’s Instagram debut comes with a post from Jordon Hudson

Bill Belichick made his surprise foray into Instagram in the most typical Bill Belichick way imaginable, immediately sharing a post with his girlfriend Jordon Hudson.

The six-time Super Bowl winner and head coach announced his new Instagram account on Wednesday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” where he will be a guest every Monday this NFL season.

“Pat, I can’t really believe I’m doing this, but I joined InstaFace,” Belichick said.

Belichick, 72, or whoever runs his account, seems to be getting the hang of it, as in his first Instagram story he shared Hudson’s post of him and the 23-year-old petting a goat at the United States Naval Academy.

The former coach wrote in her post:

I’ll leave the Billy Goat-ing to @bill.t.goat at @usnavalacademy,” he wrote. “Thanks for the warm welcome, J!”

It is Belichick’s first public acknowledgement of the relationship since the two began dating in 2022 – although they have been photographed together before.

The news of their relationship became public in June.

The former college cheerleader had a big smile on her face as she petted the Naval Academy mascot, who wore a knee-length white dress and open-toed sandals.

Navy hosted Bucknell on Saturday, so the photo may be from that game.

Belichick’s father, Steve, was an assistant coach at Navy from 1956 to 1989.

Belichick received huge applause from McAfee after the announcement, who poked fun at the former Patriots coach’s past of combining the most popular social media platforms.

“He’s on InstaFace,” McAfee said. “He’ll tweet on InstaFace.”

Belichick’s first post around 4 p.m. announced his arrival on the platform and likely surprised his fans. An hour later, his account had around 80,000 followers.

“Because I haven’t been on a team for the past few months, I haven’t had the opportunity to express my thoughts spontaneously,” Belichick said in a video post. “I’m changing that now. I tried to join SnapFace but couldn’t find it. I decided this would be a good place to talk to you and show you what I’ve been up to.”

Belichick coached New England for 24 seasons, reaching the Super Bowl nine times, but his tenure ended after he averaged over .500 just once in his final four seasons – including a 4-13 season a year ago.

During that time, he was denied a head coaching job and plunged into the sports media – and now social media.
