Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey is making waves ahead of the Ravens’ season opener against the Chiefs on Thursday night.
Humphrey slammed Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for the $100 million deal he and big brother Jason Kelce made with Amazon for their podcast “New Heights.”
“I’m praying that I can take action against him because he tried to take everything away from me,” Humphrey said Monday on his podcast “Punch Line.”
“He tried to take everything away from me. He has to pay for that. He has to pay for what he did to the podcast space. How he tried to eliminate us.
“And honestly, I don’t care who he’s dating,” Humphrey said, referring to Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift. “Are they engaged?
“… on September 6th (in the AFC Championship rematch between the Ravens and the Chiefs) it will be pod against pod and we will see who comes out on top.”
Then his co-host Jack Settleman intervened.
“If you beat him, Amazon might give us the deal,” Settleman said. “…Would you talk bad about him and say, ‘Oh, Taylor’s music is kind of garbage?'”
Humphrey, whose comments had a sarcastic undertone, clarified that it was just trash talk on the field.
“He talks a lot of rubbish,” Humphrey said. “But he’s actually a cool guy, it’s just rubbish about football… What can you really say (about Taylor Swift)?”
Humphrey went on to say that if he badmouthed Swift to Kelce on the field, they might start laughing.
“Because we’ve kind of broken up, but I’m going to say it anyway. If he starts laughing, I just laugh back. If he laughs, I laugh back,” Humphrey said.
“‘I was just kidding, bro! … Do you want to come on the show and be a guest? I should probably ask him after the game, like, ‘I’ve got a pod too, bring Taylor.’ That would do us some good numbers-wise.”
Humphrey and Settleman then mentioned that Swift’s future appearance on “New Heights” “must be included in the Amazon deal.”
“Fuck her!” joked Humphrey.
