Red Sox star talent has “the best swing in the minors” according to insider

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the Boston Red Sox have one of the most promising outfield teams in baseball.

Boston is expected to secure Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu for their outfield positions for the foreseeable future, but a 20-year-old from the Red Sox farm system is putting pressure on the organization to give him a chance at the third outfield spot as early as next season.

Roman Anthony has been dominant all season, even after being called up to the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox last month.

Keith Law, senior Major League Baseball writer for The Athletic, even believes Anthony has the best swing in the minors, according to a new report released Tuesday.

“I’ve said before that outfielder Roman Anthony may have the best swing in the minors, and I stand by that,” Law said.

“He’s continued to make quality contact, even after a promotion to Triple-A Worcester shortly after I saw him, and he’s made tremendous progress in breaking stuff compared to last year or even the first half of this year.”

“In his final at-bat in the game I attended, he hit an absolute blast to center that appeared to cross the yellow line – Anthony and the third-base coach both seemed to agree, but the umpire ruled late that the ball was still in play and Anthony was thrown out at third base. I can’t say I saw it any better from where I was sitting, but I can’t blame the kid for thinking the ball was gone.”

Adding Anthony to the Major League roster next season could be the final building block Boston needs to transform into one of the very best MLB offenses for an extended period of time.
