Concern Women for America urge Texas women to vote during a stop in the Dallas area

A bright pink bus sat in a parking lot in Hurst on Friday. The bus is emblazoned with the phrase “She Prays She Votes” and covered with signatures and messages written in black marker.

“It’s not a choice, it’s a baby,” “Families first,” and “Pray for a nation” are some of the hundreds of messages written on the pink sides of the bus.

The vehicle is part of Concerned Women for America’s “She Prays She Votes” bus tour, which stops in 11 states. The goal of the tour is to encourage Christian women to vote in the upcoming election, according to a press release.

“I don’t think we have the right to complain if we don’t do our part,” said Penny Nance, CWA president and a speaker at Friday’s event. “…I encourage women across the country, women of faith, to get on their knees before the Lord and intercede for our country and our families. And they will get up off their knees and do the next important thing.”

About 50 people gathered in Hurst with representatives from CWA, Patriot Mobile and other organizers at Embrace Grace, an anti-abortion organization.

The crowd erupted in cheers as speakers took turns denouncing the Biden-Harris administration, abortion rights policies and fentanyl-related deaths in the U.S. Spectators nodded and shouted in agreement as speakers declared their support for Israel and the ban on transgender women competing in women’s sports.

Leigh Wambsganss, communications director for Patriot Mobile, encouraged attendees to volunteer as poll watchers or poll workers in November, saying she hoped the event would encourage women to get involved.

Pamela Nishimoto said she was active with the CWA decades ago but re-signed up for the organization at Friday’s event. She has already decided to vote for former President Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election but said she is researching candidates before the election to see how they stand on family issues, constitutional freedoms and “promoting all options for new mothers.”

“I’m praying for those in the White House now,” she said. “I’m praying for them, praying a lot. I’m praying for Israel, but I’m going to follow the candidate who stands for faith, family and freedom.”

The next bus stop is in Arizona.
