Lady Gaga once sang, “I am as free as my hair,” and if her hair color changes are any indication, she might be feeling pretty free over the past few weeks.

The “Die with a Smile” singer, 38, arrived at the Venice Film Festival on Monday, September 2, with her signature blonde hair, nearly three weeks after posting a selfie of herself with black hair and bleached eyebrows.

The 13-time Grammy winner, who is at the film festival to promote Joker: Foil for Twocruised the Italian waterways in a gondola with her fiancé Michael Polansky. They hugged and kissed on the rowboat and exchanged another kiss when they arrived at the dock of the Cipriani Hotel.

Lady Gaga’s return to blonde hair comes just 18 days after she posted a spontaneous photo of her transformation to dark hair on Instagram on August 15. Just six days earlier, she had been sporting her dark locks.

A month before this drastic revelation, the “Million Reasons” singer wore a platinum blonde hairstyle during her performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Although Lady Gaga has worn a variety of hair colors throughout her career, she is best known for her blonde hair, which she has worn on and off since the music video for her debut single “Just Dance” was released in 2008.

At the Venice Film Festival on Monday, the Oscar winner paired her blonde hair with a short black polka dot dress with white dots. She rounded off the look with black sunglasses and high heels.

Her fiancé, meanwhile, wore an all-black outfit and casual shoes.

Lady Gaga’s Joker: Foil a Deux, The film premieres in Venice on September 4th and will be released in cinemas on October 4th. In the film, Gaga plays Harley Quinn, the lover of the Joker, who is once again played by Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix.

The Venice Film Festival takes place from August 28 to September 7.
