FSU already started the season last week in Ireland when they lost to Georgia Tech, while Boston College is making its first appearance under a new coaching staff led by head coach Bill O’Brien.

Florida State is coming off an undefeated regular season and the ACC championship but missed the College Football Playoff due to injuries and talent issues. FSU lost its first game of 2024 to Georgia Tech but could still be a CFP contender as the playoff field has expanded to 12 teams.
Boston College, meanwhile, lost its head coach Jeff Hafley to the Green Bay Packers and replaced him with longtime CFB and NFL coach Bill O’Brien, a Boston-area native. O’Brien is looking to transform a BC program that hasn’t won more than 7 games in a season in over a decade and barely reached a bowl game last season with one of the easiest schedules in the nation.
