Wendy’s is reportedly launching its own Krabby Patty burger, an iconic item from the popular Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants.

The underwater delicacy prepared by SpongeBob at the Krusty Krab will be available on October 8 to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary, according to an apparently leaked Wendy’s memo dated August 16 and posted on Reddit.

The sandwich will be part of a Krabby Patty meal, with the mix described as “a premium cheeseburger featuring fresh, never frozen beef from Wendy’s, topped with fresh produce and a secret Krabby Patty sauce that captures the magic of the iconic fictional sandwich for SpongeBob fans,” according to the report.

Wendy’s will also reportedly release a “Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty” – a nod to SpongeBob’s home on the show – made with the chain’s “signature Vanilla Frosty blended with pineapple-mango puree.”

The note indicated that the above-sea meal will only be available until November 11th.

“SpongeBob” fans reacted enthusiastically on social media – some were delighted, others called the release a mere rip-off by the fast-food chain.

“Trying to figure out the secret formula after tasting it,” posted one user, accompanied by a meme of Plankton, the show’s antagonist.

“Wendy’s updates prices on a basic burger that’s just called a ‘Krabbit Patty,'” added another.

A spokesperson for the fast-food giant did not comment to the Washington Post on the alleged cartoon collaboration: “While we cannot confirm what source of innovation is coming our way at Wendy’s, we can say that we are always striving to offer our fans new menu items inspired by their cravings.”
