New data from the Federal Trade Commission shows a massive increase in the amount of money consumers have lost to Bitcoin ATM scammers. Since 2020, the amount of loss reported by consumers has increased nearly tenfold, to over $110 million in 2023. NBC News’ Christine Romans speaks with a victim who says she lost tens of thousands of dollars.
