Service suffers from major outage

Spotify is currently down. This morning, users reported that the app was acting “weird,” with songs not playing and some users getting disconnected from the music platform. When they tried to log in again, the service reported: “Something went wrong.”

There has been a lot of talk on social media about this major outage, which appears to be happening worldwide. It’s unusual for Spotify to suffer a major outage, but the service is unavailable to most users and the platform hasn’t posted anything about the issue.

The outage started at around 7 a.m. ET and it appears that users are still experiencing issues. At least 2,000 people have reported this issue as of around 8 a.m. ET.

At the moment, this outage doesn’t seem to be affecting any other services or platforms, meaning it’s just an issue with Spotify. Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, and TIDAL all seem to be working fine.

On X, one user wrote: “Spotify is really down right now. How am I supposed to start my day without music?” This was followed by many other users describing how this outage affects their day when they are at the gym, commuting, or just want to listen to Chappel Roan or Charli XCX.

BGR We will continue to report on this issue and let you know when Spotify is working again.
