Adele is taking a break from music. The Grammy winner announced the news to her fans in Munich over the weekend, saying that she would not perform another minute after completing her Las Vegas tour with just 10 shows.

“I have ten more shows to do,” an emotional Adele told the crowd, “but after that I won’t see you for an incredibly long time and you will be very dear to my heart.”

Adele laid the foundation for her breakthrough in July when she appeared on the German public broadcaster ZDF (via Deadline) “I have no plans for new music at all. I want to take a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things for a short while.”

She also said that after over 100 shows in Vegas (her residency runs since 2022!), she feels like her “tank is pretty empty.”

However, acting could be her future. In December, Adele spoke to The Hollywood Reporter. “The guy whose movie it’s going to be isn’t mentally ready to write the script for it,” she explained. “I pester him about it every now and then, but he’s just not ready. But that’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I can do it. I think I’d be really, really, really good at it.”
