Adele announces music break: “I won’t see you for an incredibly long time”

Adele says goodbye to the stage for a while.

A fan shared a video on TikTok of the singer during a recent performance in Munich, in which she said that she was planning a longer break after her performance in Las Vegas.

“I have 10 shows to do, but after that I won’t see you for an incredibly long time and I’m going to care about you very much.”

Representatives for Adele did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Adele has been performing her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace since November 2022.

She originally announced this tour for 2021, only to stun and disappoint her fans months later by postponing the tour entirely. In an emotional video, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer told her fans that the caliber of her show was not up to expectations and that she and her crew would not be ready to begin in time.

After the shows began, Adele extended her dates through 2023 and then again for most of 2024. Her final shows this year are scheduled to run from October 25 to November 23.

In July, the Grammy winner told Germany’s public broadcaster ZDF that she was looking for other “creative things.”

“I have no plans for new music at all,” she told the outlet. “I want to take a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things for a short while.”

She also told the outlet, “I don’t like being famous. I love that I can make music all the time.”

Earlier this year, the “Hello” singer also said that she was struggling with the pressures of fame.

During a concert in February, she talked about photos of her taken at an NBA game in which she looks upset. She explained that she did not look happy because people were filming her against her will and that she does not like being famous at all.

“Remember that viral meme of me looking like I don’t give a shit?” she asked her audience, referring to the photos taken at the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in February 2022. She made a face similar to the one in the famous photos.

She explained that she had thought long and hard about whether she wanted to be filmed during the game and that in the end she was filmed anyway.

“The reason it looked like my lips had fillers in them – because I have naturally big lips, right, I don’t need fillers – the reason I looked like a different person was because I was pouting because I was like, ‘These motherfuckers have come back and are filming me against my will,'” she said, according to a video captured by a fan.

She added: “I didn’t realise it was on TV. I thought it was just in the room.”

“I ignored it and looked everywhere but at the camera because I was very annoyed because I asked not to be filmed but I guess I asked for it by walking away. Also, my face is just very meme-worthy, there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Fox News Digital’s Caroline Thayer and Emily Trainham contributed to this report.
