Ticket sales for Oasis concerts started

Accompanied by problems and long queues on the ticket platforms, the general sale of tickets for the comeback tour of the legendary Britpop band Oasis has started. Several websites were temporarily unavailable or only accessible to a limited extent around the start of sales for the 17 concerts in Great Britain and Ireland in the morning, while elsewhere fans were stuck far back in the queue behind hundreds of thousands of other interested parties.

“Today will be the day you can’t get tickets,” wrote one user on the online platform X, following the opening words of the Oasis classic “Wonderwall.” Another user joked: “Sure, only half a million people in front of me in the queue for Oasis tickets, I’m very optimistic!” Others joked that the band had already broken up while they were waiting in line.

In the afternoon, a very limited number of tickets for the concerts in Great Britain were still available, but not in all price categories, as reported on a major sales platform. All previously available tickets for the two final concerts in the Irish capital Dublin were already sold out on the platform’s Irish website. However, it is assumed that more tickets will be offered at a later date.

The band itself had previously spoken of “unprecedented demand”, but also warned against unauthorized resale of concert tickets at inflated prices. Tickets appearing outside of the official sales platforms are either fake or are being cancelled by the organizers, the group explained after sales began on X. Previously, advance tickets had been offered for 40 times the actual price of a standing ticket, as the BBC and others reported.

Spectacular comeback announcement

Oasis announced their reunion on Tuesday – almost 15 years to the day after singer Liam Gallagher (51) and guitarist Noel Gallagher (57) ended their collaboration because the brothers had a serious falling out. “The long wait is over,” the two announced on social media. Interest in the band is now huge: Oasis’ streams quadrupled in Germany within one day of the announcement, as GfK Entertainment reported upon request.

Initially, 15 concerts are planned in the UK in summer 2025, as well as two more in Ireland. After the opening concert on July 4th and 5th in Cardiff, Wales, the band will play five concerts each in Oasis’ hometown of Manchester and London’s Wembley Stadium, as well as three in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, before the final tour in Dublin. There is still speculation about a world tour, for example to the USA.

Oasis became famous 30 years ago with the album «Definitely Maybe». To mark the anniversary, the band released a birthday edition that also includes outtakes as well as demos and alternative versions of the songs.

Tickets for the reunion tour cost at least 86.50 euros for a seat, and at least 175 euros for standing room. It was expected that the concerts would sell out quickly.

Some fans already had the chance to secure tickets on Friday evening. They could apply for a so-called pre-sale and then try to get a ticket using a special code.

Oasis is considered one of the most successful bands in British music history. With songs like “Wonderwall”, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Supersonic”, the group from Manchester shaped the 1990s.
