One of my beige flags is that I get excited about a good kitchen tool and get even more excited about a great bargain! While browsing for birthday party supplies at Dollar Tree, I wandered through the kitchen section (and, if I’m being honest, the pantry section, the office supplies section, the cleaning supplies section, and the cosmetics section too!).

I discovered a lot of great finds, but one of my favorite kitchen items was the Cooking Concepts brand bamboo utensils. They look and feel high-quality, are durable, and if I do say so myself, expensive. But this was Dollar Tree, so these bamboo cooking utensils with their soft handles rival the stores for high-quality cookware for five quarters. I picked up three!

Why I love Dollar Tree’s bamboo utensils

First, the sheer value of these utensils is unmatched. For $1.25 a piece, you can stock up on a variety of tools, including slotted forks, spoons and spatulas. Compare that to Crate & Barrel’s five-piece set, which costs $24.95 plus tax.

With that 300 percent price increase, I could buy almost 20 tools from Dollar Tree. And the Dollar Tree finds are also comparatively eco-friendly, scratch-resistant, made from high-quality natural bamboo, And looks elegant and modern in every kitchen.

While they are not hand polished like their more expensive counterparts, they are just as functional and offer the added comfort of soft-grip handles – a significant advantage in my eyes.

How I use my new bamboo utensils from Dollar Tree

Whether I’m making a roux for macaroni and cheese or flipping a delicate omelet, these tools are up to the task. I also use them for tasks other than cooking, such as serving salads and mixing batter. The silicone handles are a nice touch, especially during the tougher “arm workout” tasks and longer cooking sessions.

And the tools are surprisingly durable. There’s no warping or splintering after a few months of use. None of the sets are dishwasher safe (because they’re made of bamboo), but they’re easy to clean by hand. Ultimately, any wooden or bamboo kitchen tool will need replacing or upgrading at some point, and at this price, they’re more than worth the price.

Once again, the humble Dollar Tree proves that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get quality tools, groceries, gifts, duplicates and other exceptional finds. Now do you understand why I have a crush on Dollar Tree?
