FORT WORTH Yes, you heard right.

On Wednesday, an alligator was caught near homes on Boat Club Road, further confirming the presence of alligators around Eagle Mountain Lake.

A concerned resident called for help, and Tarrant County Sheriff’s deputies responded.

Video shows officers skillfully capturing the alligator and quickly allaying the concerns of the resident in the 9900 block of Boat Club Road. Officers said the alligator was safely moved to a water system in a wildlife refuge.

Robbie Hoy, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said the officers involved preferred to remain anonymous and described them as “very low-key guys.”

“You never know what you’re going to see when you’re patrolling the rural areas of Tarrant County,” Hoy said. “The deputy said it was a cool experience and he was glad no one was hurt and the alligator was recovered safely.”

In a social media post, the sheriff’s office kindly referred to the creature as “Mr. Gator.”
