The United States is leading the competition in total medal count, but Team USA is in a tough battle with China for the most Olympic gold medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

There are dozens of medals up for grabs in 17 different sports on Friday, including the coveted 4×100-meter relay races, where both the U.S. men’s and women’s teams are among the top contenders for gold. The women’s team is expected to feature 100-meter silver medalist Sha’Carri Richardson, 200-meter gold medalist Gabrielle Thomas, Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry.

The U.S. men’s 4×100-meter relay team will be without Noah Lyles, who said Thursday would be “the end of my 2024 Olympics” after announcing he was battling COVID-19 during his bronze medal win in the 200-meter dash.

The USA leads the overall medal count by a wide margin with 103 medals – 30 gold, 38 silver and 35 bronze. However, the USA is just ahead of China in the gold medal count (29). Here are the top 10 by total medals:
