Here is the official synopsis of Adam Cesare’s slasher novel…

“Quinn Maybrook and her father have moved to tiny, boring Kettle Springs to make a fresh start. But what they don’t know is that Kettle Springs has been split in half since the Baypen corn syrup factory closed. On one side are the adults who are desperate to make Kettle Springs great again, and on the other side are the kids who want to have fun, make prank videos, and get out of there as quickly as possible. Kettle Springs is caught in a battle between old and new, tradition and progress. It’s a battle that threatens to destroy the town. Until Frendo, the Baypen mascot, a scary clown in a porkpie hat, turns murderous and decides that the only way Kettle Springs can grow again is to weed out the corrupted crop of children who now live there.”

“We love Eli Craig’s brand of scary fun and are excited to work with him on this terrifying slasher adaptation that is both timely and timeless,” said Temple Hill producers.

“Nostalgic-driven, sophisticated horror films that deliver on the promise of the genre – thrilling action, heart-stopping suspense and deeply satisfying endings – continue to dominate the global box office,” said Dave Bishop, CEO of Protagonist. “Our friends at Temple Hill are masters at taking this critical formula and creating completely original stories that surprise, thrill and delight audiences, and Eli is the perfect visionary to bring this special project to its full potential.”
