STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – The City of Stevens Point will be conducting road construction at numerous locations throughout the city over the next few weeks.

The 2024 Pavement Maintenance Program includes sealing existing asphalt roads with chippings and sealing the coating.

Chip sealing is expected to begin on August 28th and be completed by Friday, August 30th, depending on weather conditions and worker availability. The following streets are scheduled to be treated:

• Academy Avenue from Prentice Street North to Division Street North
• Chase Street from Main Street to Clark Street
• Cross street from Main Street to Clark Street
• Fremont Street from Main Street to Clark Street
• Front Street from Bukolt Avenue to Sixth Avenue
• Illinois Avenue from Main Street to Clark Street
• Phillips Street from Main Street to Clark Street
• Prentice Street from Maria Drive to Center Point Drive
• Sixth Avenue from Front Street to Second Street
• West River Drive from West Pleasant Street to River View Avenue

Sealing is scheduled to begin in mid-September and, depending on weather conditions and availability of workers, will be completed by the end of September. The following roads are to be treated:

• Algoma Street from Minnesota Avenue to Texas Avenue
• Belke Street from Lindbergh Avenue to Frontenac Avenue
• Bush Street from Indiana Avenue to Sunset Boulevard
• Channel Drive from North Termini to Heffron Street
• Frontenac Avenue from Bush Street to Belke Street
• Indiana Avenue from Patch Street to Channel Drive
• Janick Circle North from Mary Ann Avenue to East Termini
• Janick Circle West from Janick Circle North to Jordan Lane
• Lindbergh Avenue from Bush Street to Heffron Street
• Meadow Street from Fourth Avenue to Portage Street
• Minnesota Avenue from Clark Street to Jefferson Street
• Portage Street from First Street to Smith Street
• Ridge Court from Ridge Road to East Termini
• Ridge Road from Janick Circle North to Main Street (STH-66)
• Simonis Street from Ridge Road to East Termini
• Soo Marie Avenue from Bush Street to Belke Street
• Smith Street from Fourth Avenue to Center Point Drive
• Sunset Fork from Green Avenue to Ridge Road
• Texas Avenue from North Termini to Jefferson Street
• Third Street from Fourth Avenue to Center Point Drive
• Washington Avenue from Second Street to Pulaski Place
