The Millard-Henry Skyline Clinic won the grand prize in the “Paint the Town Green and Gold 2024” community spirit contest hosted by the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Tech University.
Now in its ninth year, Paint the Town Green and Gold invites local businesses and nonprofits to show their support for ATU by decorating their buildings with an Arkansas Tech motif.
Other winning companies and organizations included JBT Corporation (Best Outdoor Presentation), Crossfit Russellville (also Best First-Time Participant), Cardiology Associates of North Central Arkansas (also Best First-Time Participant), Millard-Henry OB/GYN Clinic (Best Indoor Presentation), C&D Drug Store (Tech Pride), and Friendship Pottery Worx (Most Creative Jerry the Bulldog).
35 companies and non-profit organizations took part in the 2024 competition.
“This year’s spirit competition was incredible,” said Angela Bonds, director of leadership, government and university affairs for the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Seeing the corporate employees come together and promote ATU always generates a lot of energy and pride. Many companies highlight their alumni who work at the companies. Many pictures of Jerry the bulldog were painted on windows and doors. Judging day is always a fun day.”
All businesses and nonprofits that participated in the 2024 Paint the Town Green and Gold Community Spirit Contest will receive free tailgating seats and game tickets when the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys host Oklahoma Baptist University for the season opener at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium in Russellville on Thursday, Sept. 5. Tailgating begins at 4 p.m. and kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The winning entries of Paint the Town Green and Gold will be recognized and the challenge cup will be presented to the Millard-Henry Skyline Clinic during the game.
Arvest, Friendship Community Care, Millard-Henry Clinic, Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation and Simmons Bank are the 2024 Paint the Town Green and Gold sponsors.
